We stayed at the Clarence after a week's sailing in the Solent and were very impressed. The manager, Paula, was very friendly and helpful with advice on bars and restaurants. The room was comfortable and the full-English breakfast the next morning was delicious (and not too greasy). All in all, an excellent choice in Portsmouth.

The Clarenceis a great place to stay, the rooms are a generous size by UK standards, The hotel is spotless and the hospitality of the hosts Paula and Jade is beyond criticism. They are friendly, helpful, courteous and share a sense of humour. Would highly recommend this Hotel.
