We stayed for a night in the Mercure to attend a wedding in Winchester. The major strength of this hotel is the location, slap bang next to the cathedral. We had one night at this Mercure. The hotel is very central, next to the very nice cathedral gardens. Some rooms have view on the gardens and the cathedral... wow, well a very enjoyable nights stay for my birthday. Room's view was of Winchester cathedral . The hotel is overlooked by Winchester Cathedral so the outlook from bedrooms facing the Cathedral is amazing. The staff were always helpful and friendly.
