My Husband and I stayed here as a mini honeymoon for a couple of nights and we were not disappointed. Excellent location, charming setting. We stayed in December and it was a perfect time of year to go. The restaurant and pub atmosphere is really cosy and inviting. Not too far away was the Xmas Market which made you feel... More

We were here only for lunch one day and found the Wykeham Arms to be very interesting and charming. Hundreds of pieces of memorabilia on the walls, etc. We could browse for hours. We have a very nice lunch; a little more expensive than you might expect elsewhere, but this place is unique.

Just outside a cathedral gate, the hotel was an excellent location for exploring the town. Room was comfortable, although we were directly above the pub and could hear some noise - not a problem on a Sunday night but could be an issue on a weekend. Speaking of the pub, it's seriously cool and I found myself wishing I had... More

I have been going to the Wyk for many years. During that time it has experienced many variations in quality, from superb to rubbish. (Who can forget Giles Coren's devastating and accurate review some years ago). Thankfully the egregiously miscast manager of that time has moved on. It remains a lovely place in an excellent setting, the staff are excellent.... More

I booked two rooms at the Wykeham Arms at the weekend as we were meeting friends new to Winchester. We arrived on Saturday lunchtime and the bar was full and even in late April the log fire was burning. Nice. The word 'eclectic' is overused, but what else to say of this place? A superb venue for traditional drinks, a... More

Great central location in 'ye olde Winchester' perfect for the Cathedral and City centre amenities. We booked three rooms for one night and each room was quite different in its layout, decor and feel. All rooms were very comfortable with all mod cons. Bathrooms differed with a mix of separate showers and showers over baths, so ask when booking if... More

Almost next to the cathederal and 5 minutes from the town centre, shops and restaurants. This old style pub/hotel offers great accomodation with really friendly and helpful staff. Whilst we booked a room with bath, it turned out the advertising was wrong so we got a shower instead, so check any booking you make. Room was spatious, warm with all... More

Spent one night at the Wykeham Arms on a friend's recommendation. Beautiful traditional pub, fantastic location, with parking. We stayed in their accommodation across the road,(the Bakehouse) which was quiet at night, i think a room over the pub may not be as quiet. Blown away by the high standard and quality of food served; both dinner and breakfast were... More

Spent one night at the Wykeham Arms in March for a weekend getaway. Great location with parking on site - access to the car park is tight. Bags of character throughout and packed at both lunchtime and evenings, with a faithful crowd of locals at the bar including students and local clergy! It's essential to book if you want to... More

We hadn't been to the Wyk for many years (a no children policy and now we have two of them!) but visited hoping that little had changed and were not disappointed. The ethos of the pub has been retained - polite, welcoming and helpful staff serving lovely food; well decorated rooms. We will be back again when we can leave... More
