Arrived at the Kings Head on 8th May 2013 for an overnight stay in Canterbury. Staff: From the minute we arrived the staff were friendly and very helpful. Room: One of the smallest we have stayed in, but the quaintest, which was lovely as it was something different. Comfortable and clean. Pub & food: Nice and friendly. Good choice reasonably... More

The pub itself was very good with 4 real ales on although only 1 really took my fancy. There was a duo playing live music but unless I had seen the posters I could have sworn it was karaoke, they were truly awful! Couldn't sing, couldn't play but the locals seemed to enjoy them, maybe I've been spoilt with decent... More

I’m someone who generally prefers to stay above a pub than in a local hotel, so while I might be a bit rose-tinted, I found the Kings Head gorgeous. I got a warm welcome on a very cold night, loved the cosy atmosphere, individuality, brilliant breakfast and the feeling of being a guest. The ensuite shower, bed and pillows were... More

Booked in for 1 night due to attending weekend lectures. Hosts were very welcoming, room was spotlessly clean, cosy and with en-suite, freeview TV, free wi-fi, kettle, tea/coffee etc. Good choice for breakfast and free papers. Great rate of £38 for the night. Highly recommended budget hotel. Considering is above a pub I couldnt hear any noise. I normally stay... More

I stayed at the Kings Head for a night in October. The owners and bar staff are all very welcoming, as are the locals in the bar. The room and bathroom were squeaky clean and well equipped - tea, coffee, hot chocolate, extra blankets and pillows and handy extras in the bathroom for anything you may have forgotten. The bathroom... More

The booking was easy and the people who run The Kings Head are friendly and welcoming and kind. I would stay here again. Pros - off road parking, friendly people, OK value for money, lots of tea / coffee / biscuits in room, nice decoration and accessories, nice breakfast with lots of choices, nice plump pillows on the bed, fast... Good atmosphere, clean and comfortable, excellent food, relaxed and good value. With the help of Tripadviser I have found some good places, but this is a gem. Owners and staff who care about people but don't invade their space. A small b&b and full of character. I was here for a week and, with the added bonus of excellent public... More

Stayed for a short break at the hotel,it's location is a little walling distance from Canterbury town centre but this gives you more chances to see stuff and there's a bus stop just along from the pub. Found the atmosphere to be quite nice and the rooms although small are cosy and bathroom is very modern. The food is excellent... More

A top value place to stay when visiting Canterbury. Located only 15 minutes walk from the town centre and bus station, this B&B offers great value for money. My room, at the back of the pub, was clean and well set up, with a good selection of complimentary toiletries, a generous hospitality tray, hairdrier, clock radio and TV/DVD player with... More

The Kings Head is an advert for choosing the British B&B over a boring, clinical chain hotel. Run by a lovely couple, it is a perfect place to stay for a couple of nights in the Canterbury area. Welcoming, clean, well run with a nice pub below and a delicious hearty breakfast for a very reasonable price. We enjoyed our... More
