One word describes this delightful place - perfect! The room was great and the staff very friendly and professional. The hotel has a lovely character which gets you in the perfect mood for a Lake District escape. We dined at a restaurant in town but could easily have eaten at the hotel, the food looked delicious. Breakfast was wonderful and... More

Booked this hotel as a last minute birthday treat. The room was very spacious if a little near to the road, so just felt that any high vehicles might be able to see into the room, which explained why there were dressing gownds available. We were advised that the tv was not working and so were offered a discount on... More

Thank you for your review. I hope you enjoyed your stay with us. You will be pleased to know that we have now fixed the satelite problems we were having during your stay. I am disappointed that you did not find anything on our menu appealing, it does change every day so maybe if you do stay with us again... More

We had a lovely 3 day break, the hotel is excellent - all staff are very considerate and extremely efficient. Meals are superb. Would reccomend this hotel to anyone who wants a quiet sophisticated and well run hotel.

A wonderful evening with attentive service and the feeling of dining in an exclusive club My wife and I were very impressed with the food, the elegant surroundings and the fact that the Maitre D' wished us a happy anniversary. There was a heart shaped box of truffles for us on the table..... And we only vaguely mentioned the event... More

Just have to write a review of your splendid afternoon tea and what a lovely time we had on our first visit to your friendly hotel. The food was delicious and all homemade. Ate here many years ago and returned recently for a most-enjoyable Sunday lunch. Imaginative, beautifully-presented dishes there were on offer, from starters to desserts. The elegant bar lounge etc is beautifully decorated and furnished, and was awash with natural daylight, For a busy fine Spring Sunday in The Lakes, the peace and tranquility was striking. Also most worthy of note... More

We stayed en-mass with a family group taking 4 rooms. The hotel were so accommodating of our needs, my father is in a wheelchair so it was lovely that they had a spacious room with all the facilities they needed, as well as plenty of space in the hotel to get around. The meals were all really good, with lots... More

I was given a voucher for afternoon tea and chose to go to Rothay Manor. It was excellent. The staff were friendly and courteous. The tea was a buffet - and although it did not look huge at first sight - was actually enormous. There were sandwiches, savouries, scones with cream - and the most delicious lemon curd - tea... More

The last time we were at Rothay Manor was when the very elegant and excellent hostess Bronwen was there to welcome us. We promised ourselves we would return one day, and managed to do this recently for a short break. We found Rothay Manor to be every bit as good as our first visit - the atmosphere of the place...
