Yes you can find more upmarket and more expensive hotels, but this one will take some beating in terms of location, friendly service, and value for money. Stayed for two nights ,room good, breakfasts plentiful, well cooked and hot. Location super in the centre of A mbleside, staff extremely friendly, nothing was too much touble. Would stay here again.

This hotel is in the perfect location, the food in the evening is great and you get lots of it. We stayed in a family room with bunk beds which at first looked great but it could have done with being a lot cleaner in the bathroom and really needs renovating throughout. Not the last word in luxury and we were upgraded to a superior room as there were few other residents but more than adequate. Staff especially friendly and accommodating.
