The location for this B&B was very central, but as the room we were in was on the main road there was a lot of traffic noise from early in the morning. First impressions could have been better as the entrance was very cluttered and there was definite smell of cigarette smoke in the hall! But the room was clean... More

We spent two nights here and found this an excellent location to base ourselves while exploring the Lake District. A very short walk into town and close to the lake. Breakfast was great and perfectly timed, plenty of choice. The locally sourced toiletries was a lovely touch. Great to have parking so close by and a pass available from reception.... More

Excellent all round little B&B in a great location. We arrived at the guest house and were warmly greeted by the owner. He was very helpful and suggested possible things to do and see in the area. He also had a folder of walks and sight seeing routes that he said we could use at any time. I was pleasantly... More

Alan and Sue have created a very homey, friendly and warm environment. We stayed in the Windermere Suite which was excellent. The breakfast was sensational and there is a lot of choice. Every morning over breakfast we would chat with Alan about pretty much everything. His knowledge of the surrounding fells and what to expect with conditions was great. Broadview... More

Stayed at this place over the easter break - it is very nicely located - a short walk away - very close to the town centre and close of places to eat. The room I stayed in Rydal was a bit small - and would easily be crammed with stuff if a couple stayed there , hardly any walking space,... More

Was well looked after again by Alan and Sue from start to finish. We took the Windermere suite for the 2nd time which has a large four poster bed, so if you are north of 6' tall you will have no problem with stretching out in bed without banging your feet or head. Room has full tea and coffee facilities,... More

If you want a very nice family-run B&B then the Broadview is your best bet==we were 2 couples who shared 2 rooms with adjoining bathroom on the 3rd floor. It was very nice but rather close quarters if you were strangers !!! Wonderful hosts with a super breakfast=would definitely stay again

On first look this B&B isn't up to much, being on the main road into Ambleside and opposite the Hays Garden Centre. Parking is 200m away, but with the bonus of a parking pass valid all over the south lakes so the minor inconvenience of parking up the road is outweighed by the saving on car parking during your stay... We stayed in the Broadview for 4 nights in October and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very friendly and helpful owner provided us with a parking pass for the nearby pay & display carpark which was so handy as we were doing loads of walking and didn't really need to use our car. There was an amazing choice of breakfast food from... More

Stayed 2 nights in early August. A very cosy guest house indeed with lots of attention to detail in terms of the service you receive and extras in the room. We stayed in the Windermere suite which hosted a 4 poster bed, en-suite facilities, small wardrobe and dresser. Tea and coffee facilities are all there and there's a very useful... More
