If you want a very nice family-run B&B then the Broadview is your best bet==we were 2 couples who shared 2 rooms with adjoining bathroom on the 3rd floor. It was very nice but rather close quarters if you were strangers !!! Wonderful hosts with a super breakfast=would definitely stay again

On first look this B&B isn't up to much, being on the main road into Ambleside and opposite the Hays Garden Centre. This lovely B & B is just on the edge of Ambleside opposite the garden centre. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with a cool little mini fridge for wine etc...They even leave wine glasses out. Alan and Sue are wonderful hosts and went above and beyond to help. Highly recommended.
