We stayed for 3 nights at Low Wray just after the bank holiday weekend and the place was only about 10% full as everyone else had gone back to work. We paid extra for a lake view and the spot where our tent was (pitch 16) was stunning, about 4 metres from the edge of the lake. First night we... More

low wray is a brilliant beginners campsite. great selection of places to stay from tipis, yurts, pods and tent stays near the lake and in the woods. low wray is brilliantly positioned for day trips to busy Windermere and bowness to travelling further north to the quieter areas. I stayed as a group of four ladies with bikes and had... More

We arrived on Saturday afternoon of the bank holiday weekend in the knowledge that the site was fully booked, expecting chaos and a crowded site. This was far from the truth. The site has been laid out to utilise the best of the natural landscaping ensuring each of the pitches have plenty of space and some are snuggled amongst the... More

A group (my dog, husband and I, a family of 4 with dog and boys ages 11, 8 and a friend. Three tents in all) of us stayed here over a long weekend in July (some of our other friends staying at a B&B in Windermere). The weather was absolutely beautiful! We had a wonderful weekend kayaking on the lake... More

This was one of the best holidays I have ever been on. It was just my boyfriend and me, and we were lucky enough to get given a camping pod right next to Lake Windermere. It was just beautiful, and peaceful for the most part - except for a school group that had pitched up in the adjacent field. Oh... More

Stayed here as a couple in July 2011 for three nights in our own tent. Low Wray campsite was easy to find, we checked in fine and given a little map to find our pitch (197) which was on the other side of the river/stream to reception. Pitch was nice and we had no problems with noise. At this site... More

Stayed for 2 nights at Low Stay Campsite in a pod. All bar the horrendous rain, it was exactly the get-away I needed. Staff were brilliant, very friendly and helpful. Couldn't have asked for more.

Just returned from a 2 night break at Low Wray in a camping pod. Pod was excellent, nice and snug with lots of room inside and a nice little deck for making the odd cup of tea. Rain was quite nonstop during out stay but it was cosy inside the pod - although the rain was noisy, the pod kept... More
