We found this hotel after many years since our last visit to Cockermouth, to find it still has the same charm we remembered. Though we did not stop here we did eat and found the food to be excellent value and genuinely fine dining.

What a find.....One of the best hotels we have stayed in. All the staff made us feel very welcome.......To be able to sit next to a large open fire, with our pet pooch after dinning, was priceless... Myself,My fiance and of course our Dog de Bourdeux will be visiting again in the future....FIRST CLASS....

We stayed here in February and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious, immaculate and full of character. The bed was comfortable and plenty big enough. We enjoyed our meal in the restaurant and found the staff friendly and welcoming. We will be back.

The rooms are very spacious, mines had 2 double beds and a couch in it. You can clearly see real effort has been made to make it modern but keep the georgian look about it, top marks for that, the bath room was completely out of proportion with the big bed room.
