Mine was a single room with shared bathroom and toilet, however, it always seemed to be available :) Room had a sink/washbasin, was warm (as it was throughout the house throughout the day !), fairly clean and comfy. Plenty of parking space available. You can sit outside in the garden if you wished. A large lounge is available if you... More

Ken is the greatest, he will do whatever is needed to make your stay the best. Great place, great rooms and location. The ambiance is so relaxing you will not want to leave. Ignore the over priced and over rated hotel across the road and take the short walk to the village with its wide range of restaurants cafes etc,... More

Dont know what people want for there money, I paid less than the crowd that stayed in the youth hostel up the road. Ken was very welcoming straight to the point and left you to it. I thought the lodge was nice the room totally spot on and the breakfast was great. If I am back in the area I... More

Stayed here as a last minute trip, My wife and I had no issues whatsoever friendly staff and great breakfast, at the end of the day it's a b&b not a top class hotel. We will definitely use this place again.

I'm not quite sure what the reviews rating average wanted for their money. Granted, it's not a 5* hotel, but it's a great bed and breakfast offering friendly service for really reasonable rates. I was given single occupancy of a twin room for £30 - I think rates are from £27. This was for a room with a shared bathroom... More

The hotel felt slightly out of date; room smelt damp with mould patches visible in bed and bathrooms), location slightly out of town, bed not too comfy. But good value accommodation for Coniston which is a lovely and picturesque town, the owner Ken was very welcoming and hospitable, there is a lounge and garden area if you don't want to... More

Not a lot of character here: the muzzle-loading fowling pieces in the lounge are vaguely interesting but the owner didn't have much to say about them. Pump dispensers in the shower cubicle meant less waste than other places. The shower was ok, breakfast was good, butbthe packed lunch was a real rip-off (£6 each for 2 rounds of sandwiches made... Very friendly and helpful staff. Beding has been updated since last year. The private garden is an added bonus when you have a dog but also nice to sit in the sun looking at the view.

I had a few days away on my own to recover from working too hard and the Bluebird was a great place to stop. It's just off the road a few minutes walk from Coniston and a few minutes walk from the lake. The owner, Ken was extremely helpful and breakfast plentiful. On a wet evening the lounge was very... I stayed at Bluebird Lodge for two nights and my only disappointment was I could not stay longer. The room was spotlessly clean and Ken and his team provided a wonderful customer service standard. Breakfast was excellent and cooked to a very high standard. I hope to return soon. Visitor from Cornwall
