Stayed with a group of 40 - mainly senior citizens - on 16-20 May 2012. Perfect service, "olde world charm" hotel, beautiful garden, very quiet, also the front rooms. Main asset, however, is the Signature Restaurant. Never had a hotel with such quality food, choice of dishes & service for groups before. The notion of England's less favourable reputation for... stayed for one night on 21/5/12. Everything about this place is more than the 4 star rating it has got. The friendly service and relaxing atmosphere is fantastic. Stayed in a double courtyard room which was tastefully decorated and very clean. Beautiful gardens surround this hotel and we sat watching rabbits on the lawn while enjoying a drink in the... More

Just returned from a weekend at this Hotel where we attended a Wedding. The Hotel was a typical Lakeland Hotel set in the most beautiful Gardens. Rooms were really pretty with beautiful En Suite facility. The wedding was simply stunning, fantastic food and the staff were excellent, for such an important occasion it was everything you would dream of. I... More

Friendly greeting and helpful reception staff when walking in off the street for a last minute booking. Very accommodating when compared with other hotels in Grasmere with out of season availability. The hotel converted a double to a twin without hesitation or fuss. Thank you. Comfortable hotel in the centre of Grasmere with ample parking. Good breakfast.

we visited this hotel in february. Everything about it was very good. Howeve one small thing did give us cause for concern, the heat in the room!!! it was boiling!. Now i Know it was febraury, however we could not turn the radiator down. When eventually we did turn the radiator down it was still very hot. We pointed this... More

The best thing about visiting a hotel you’ve not tried before is when it far surpasses your expectations. Thus was the joyous experience my Girlfriend and I have just been lucky enough to experience in the Lake District over Easter. We only decide to go up there in March and found our first choice of Hotel fully booked. But they... More

For a 4* luxury hotel with so many favourable reviews and payment of £150 a night for a double room we were disappointed with a smaller room than we have had in many upmarket B & Bs and a very noisy location above the kitchens. We could hear the staff shouting 'Service' until gone 11.00 pm. We could also hear... More

Hello I was disappointed to see this review when I had apologised profusely when you checked out and asked what I could do to compensate for the first night. It was your suggestion to minus the extras on your bill which came to £20. I had thought we had sorted any issues then. It was a shame that your upgraded... More
