This hotel has an amazing location - right on Grasmere lake...but it doesn't sit comfortably in its surroundings. Both the interior and exterior lack the finishing touches - it has furniture, but nothing more. No finesse. It feels like it needs some funds and an experienced hotelier to finish it off properly. I don't know what the groundskeeper is up... More

The Daffodil Hotel is a modern, exceptionally clean hotel with friendly staff. The location is very good, and we had a lovely time relaxing with a glass of wine on the terrace just taking in the view across the lake. Very conveniently located to Grasmere which you can walk to in approx 10 minutes. Buffet style breakfast with a great... More

This hotel is set in a stunning location right on the edge of Grasmere lake. It is located a little outside Grasmere village, but is within easy walking distance to local pubs and restaurants in the village (around a 10 minute walk). Grasmere is a lovely village and well worth a walk around. The rooms are large and well appointed... More

When we got there we first thought 'we cant afford this" but it was surprisingly reasonable we were only going to stay one night but after seeing the rooms we added a night to our stay it gets cheaper per night for more than one night. It had just opened so everything is brand new the beds are huge and... More

Not the most traditional of Lakeland hotels but it is very good for its type. Modern, clean, bright rooms, solid service and pleasant ambience. We did't try the spa but friends we were with did and found it to be really good. This was bank holiday weekend last minute trip and itwas great, and they gave us a good deal... More

I would highly recommend this hotel if relaxation is what you're after. We have just returned from two, blissfully chilled out days in Grasmere and this place is on our 'favourites' list now. The hotel is large, modern and quite chic. It's newly renovated and by the looks of things, no expense was spared. Some great artwork and photographs around... More

We booked this hotel through Hidden Delights in the Daily Telegraph with a percentage off and we were upgraded when we checked in. We overlooked a lovely valley full of bluebells and sheep. Our room was very spacious with comfortable beds and there were interesting, and different prints on the walls. En route to the Dining Room were paintings in... More

Just back from a 2 day stay in this fantastic hotel. I haven't been in the Lake District since I was a teenager and after this visit I wonder WHY!!! The Daffodil is a great, modern hotel with excellent friendly welcoming staff. The room was large, bright and immaculate with a view of the Lake. Food was very good and cocktails... More

I'd been wanting to go to the Daffodil for a while and when it came up on a KGB deal I couldn't resist. My husband has MS and has mobility issues and although he doesn't require an 'accessible' room he does need a room that is near the lift and has a separate shower (as opposed to one over the... More
