We stayed here near the Bank Holiday weekend for 3 nights in one of the newer rooms. The location is excellent - Keswick is the perfect base for a first time visit to the Lake District. We were constantly surprised by the excellent service of David and Valerie. David, in particular, was very helpful in relation to recommending walks, restaurants... More

Her in doors and I spent a lovely Easter weekend at Howe Keld. The B and B is in a great location between Keswick town centre and the lake side, our room was comfortable and breakfast was very tasty. As B and Bs go Howe Keld is quite large but we were made to feel extremely welcome throughout our stay... More

We had a lovely weekend break during one of the coldest weekends in March. We were delayed due to the weather but received a very warm welcome when we finally made it. The accommodation was spotless and very tastefully decorated .As it was a birthday treat we stayed in a 'junior suite' ( room 15 I think). It was wonderfully... More

Stayed here in March 2013, in room 11. The room size was perfect for a 4 night stay with space to sit and watch TV whilst it snowed outside! Great location for walking by the lake or into town, with some very useful restaurant recommendations from the owners. Breakfast is a real highlight, possibly the best breakfast I've ever had... We've holidayed in Keswick many times and have noticed Howe Keld from the car park behind the Skiddaw Hotel so decided to give it a go this time. We certainly weren't disappointed. In fact we were very impressed. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. Our room - room 5 - was gorgeous, clean, comfortable, light and airy. There was... More

Great location Fantastic breakfasts - both healthy and not-so-healthy options! Tastefully decorated rooms - not your typical B&B chintz Our room was a little small, but we booked late so got the last room remaining which was the smallest Only downside was the parking (not enough spaces for all guests, leaving us to take our chances with the traffic wardens... Thanks again to Dave and Val for another lovely stay at Howe Keld. We keep returning, like homing pigeons, because we love it so much! Perfect location, spotless rooms, comfy beds, tasty breakfasts and just a nice relaxing place to be with owners who genuinely care about their guests' comfort and well-being.

I have lost track of the number of times I, with or without my wife, have stayed at HoweKeld. It is so well placed between the town centre and the Lakeside Theatre that I would not wish to stay anywhere else for the annual Jazz Festival! Over the years HoweKeld has grown bigger and even better. The charming hosts are... More

Cannot fault this B&B. Great hosts - so helpful in every way!! Rooms were immaculate and very well decorated and spacious. Ideal location for Keswick centre, far enough away not to be kept awake all night, close enough to walk into the centre. Breakfast was amazing with a great choice of hot & cold food (I thought the pancakes were... More
