The old ship is a hidden gem in Hackney - 2 minutes walk from tube sation. We were given a free drink on arival and booked in very promptly from helpful staff. The hotel has a nice bar and restaurant. The breakfast in the morning was lovely, latte, juice and good produce. We had the top floor room which is... More

This was our 3rd stay at the Old Ship . We always get a clean bright room with a comfy bed. Breakfast is fine and all the staff are incredibly helpful. Great value in the capital with the overground station a short walk away.

After an arduous 36 hours non stop travelling across several timezones I landed at the Old Ship, 3 hours too early for check-in but just glad to have arrived there. Was welcomed with a complimentary drink and room was made ready as a priority. Took a fabulous shower and had very long sleep in very comfy bed, room was well... More

Stayed here for 2 nights while on business in Hackney. A free beer on checkin was most surprising and very welcome. Off to a great start. The whole Inn has a boutique feel to it with great decor. Stairs were narrow and windy, a no-go for the elderly. Room small but comfortable and warm. Loose tea is another nice touch... More

The room was clean but nothing else was to my liking, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The single room was not big enough to swing a cat and the noise from the creaking floors was really annoying, so I did not sleep much. You could also hear other sounds from the adjoining rooms. The shower takes approximately... More

All I can say is how can they do it for the money. The rooms are very clean, of a reasonable size (larger than some 4 star hotels in London) with good food and friendly staff. I was told there has been a bigger emphasis on local produce and as a regular business traveller to London, I can confirm the... More

I stayed here overnight to attend an evening course held locally. What a great little place....we entered via the passage way from main street which was fresh and clean (see previous review) and the pub was lovely, well decorated and cosy. The staff took our bags despite being 11 am so I was free to explore London in comfort...was given... More

We went for lunch before going to the panto at the Hackney Empire on the 27th December. So some of the negative aspects of this review may be something to do with the date. We entered from their own alley leading from the main street. It need a swill down and my son almost refused to go any further due... More

I usually stay in fairly faceless, 'corporate' hotels, whilst always trying to seek out a good, local and reasonbly priced restaurant. Leaving it late to book, my options were very limited so a search of the area showed the Old Ship as an interesting option and I was very pleased I did as my stay was great, from start to... More
