The worst hotel in London I've ever stayed. Dirty rooms, full of stains in wall, toilet, doors. In 5 days didn't change towers or sheets. The windows didn't close properly, so it's cold inside the rooms. The elevator's door is dirty as well. And staff was unkind. Didn't recommend

The old saying is, "You get what you pay for" I wasn't expecting The Ritz having paid only £65 for a one night stay but if you are expecting something akin to a Holiday Inn, Travelodge or Premier Inn you will be sorely disappointed. The first detractor is the renovation in progress with scaffolding on the outside and disruption inside. Booking in was fairly easy but you have to read the terms and conditions on a computer screen then sign a pad with a stylus to say you agree. Despite my best efforts my signature appeared as if had been written by someone who was demented or the scribblings of a toddler. There are 2 staircases leading from reception to the rooms, pick the wrong one for your room and you will probably end up frustrated and lost. There is no signage at each staircase showing which one is best to use for your room. The room was a Superior Single. It measured around 10 feet by 7 feet. It was clean but tired and shabby. It contained one Queen sized bed I assume for the more rotund single traveller, a double wardrobe facing the end of the bed in which I found a telephone and tea / coffee making facilities. ( These were on par with what might be found in Travelodge or similar). The Aircon control panel was fixed to the wall with only one screw and moved sideways when touched, it was not working. On the plus side the bed was comfortable and the room well lit. The bathroom was small about 6 feet by 4 feet. The tiles on the floor were loose and rocked when walked on catching on the bottom of the door when opened and closed. There was also a risk of catching and injuring ones foot on the tiles. Lighting in the bathroom was poor provided only by a light over the mirror above the wash basin. That wash basin was very small, 14 ins by 10 ins, it had no plug or grid. Drop anything into the sink and it will go down the plughole ( ring, glass eye etc.) then it will be well and truly lost in the u bend. Hot water in the wash basin and shower was instantaneous and hot. The shower was dark but full operational with a fixed overhead drenching shower and a hand held hose to get to all those important little places. The toilet was fully functional and flushed first time every time. 2 bath towels were provided along with a small soap and 4 tubes of shampoo / shower gel. For some reason the edge of the floor drain had only been partially sealed.…

Stayed in a single cupboard (I mean room) for 2 nights. Never again! The room was tiny. Literally enough room for a small single bed. I am 5ft 9 and I could not lay on the bed with my legs stretched out. I had to bend them or else hit the wall. The bathroom - sitting on the toilet with your chin on the sink! Shower - couldn’t change the temp from scolding! View from the window - shocking! I would suggest you get better in prison….

A member of staff came into our room at around 4 am, woke us up and harassed us. We were woken in the night by a strange man coming into our room. my partner told him to go away. A short while later there was a knock on the door, he said ‘go away’ again. This was followed by another knock on the door, I then opened the door and the man asked to see my partner’sI D. He showed him his passport. We were unable to get back to sleep after this extremely distressing incident. We cannot understand why the member of staff felt it necessary to come into our room - is this their policy? We were left feeling traumatised by this incident. They have a member of staff who is behaving in a completely unacceptable and intimidating manner towards guests. This needs to be investigated and dealt with as a matter of urgency. Although this happened over a week ago we have not had an explanation or apology from the hotel and it seems they are unwilling to accept that any wrongdoing occurred. They do not reply to messages. If I had been staying in the room alone I would have been absolutely terrified and would have had to call the police.…

AWFUL! Do not book. Hotel is an active building site. You will have to walk through the building site to get to the “reception”. Scaffolding, tables and chairs piled everywhere, dirt and building dust, tools and bags of cement all over the place. Absolutely disgusting. Received an email AFTER booking a non-refundable room which said that some renovations meant that the lift was unavailable. Completely underplayed the level of building works and disruption. Dirty and disgusting hotel.

The hotel is located in a very convenient location. Not far away there’re supermarkets, pharmacies, some restaurant and fast food chains. The tube stop isn’t far away (300 m) and is served by two lines that connect the main points of interest. The staff is helpful, kind and friendly. Cleanliness and rooms ‘re average, perfect for staying a few days in London.

The hotel is located 6 min from the metro station, 25 min walk from the Nature Museum and 30 min walk from the Harrods. There are grocery stored around (Sainsbury in 2 min, Tesco Express at 6 min etc). The location is very good, and it's the direct metro line from/to Heathrow. They also provide free luggage storage which is convenient when your flight is in the evening. Apart from this, the hotel itself is an extremely low-cost type. The room stank of sewage and the air freshener (which I bough) was very little help. The furniture is old, they don't even leave a spare toilet paper when doing room service. Be aware that there is no lift in the building that can be quite a problem when you have heavy luggage. My room was facing the main road that is quite busy during the night so I had to use earplugs.…

Warning if you are taller than 6ft - do not book a Single Room at the Cromwell International Hotel, as the bed ends are between two walls. I stayed at the hotel 17-19 Oct 2023, but only after having to pay for an upgrade Complained to Booking.com that their website did not advise this feature. They have done nothing and the website description remains the same Mark
