I have stayed at this hotel several times before. The reasons for this is because the pro's outweigh the con's. Pro's: Excellent location if you like hyde park. Easy access from paddington station, close to the tube, and many charming pubs in walking distance. The hotel is located in a quiet street, so there is little traffic noise to disturbe... More

Stayed for one night with my Mum. We were able to check in from midday without notifying the hotel (we got there early and were planning to just leave our bags there for a few hours but our room was ready. The room was spotlessly clean as was the en suite bathroom. Our room (203) actually had a small upstairs... More

Can not begin to express the shock when we checked into our rooms. We were a small group with 3 rooms booked for 2 nights and each room we worst than the next. One room was in the basement where the carpets were damp and where flees were living on the beds. The other 2 rooms the mattresses had many... More

If you want somewhere with a clean, comfortable bed for a night or two then London Guards could suit you. Paid less than £60 for the night, with continental breakfast included. Bargain for central London. Nice quiet road, 5 minutes walk to tube. Hotel rooms quite old - some bath tiles held on with sellotape and the colour had gone... More

The hotel is neat the centre about 20 min walking to the Oxford street and near to the Hyde Park.Tube station is 5 min walk away. It is an old small hotel. The rooms are big for London hotel and clean with a small kitchen with nescafe facilities and a small fridge. We had a room for 5 (we were... More

The London Guards Hotel has a good location near Hyde Park, and it takes only 5-6 minutes with a cab to get to Oxford street. But the hotell needs desperately a make-over, and can someone please clean the walls and the roofs. They are very dirty. I booked the family room, the beds was ok, and the bathroom as well.... More

I was only in London for a day, to attend an event, and I wasn't the one to make the travel arrangements. I arrived at the London Guards Hotel--had to hunt just a little to find it--too early for check-in, but they allowed me to drop off my suitcase and told me to come back between 1:00 and 2:00. The... We stayed here for 2 nights in October 2011, we stayed in the family room. As many others have said it could do with re-furb and new crockery etc. But It was clean and the staff were very friendly, it is in a good location and has rooms for 5. If your looking for a decent, clean hotel in a... More

I stayed in room 2G for a night (Fri-Sat). The hotel is located 800 metres from Lancaster gate tube station, in a neighbourhood with fancy cars :-) The hotel was pretty much as expected. Nothing fancy but no negative aspects either. (The breakfast was perhaps a bit boring.)

No matter what was good about this hotel it was negated as this hotel has BED BUGS!! In Room 205, I woke up with one crawling on my neck and we caught a second one which burst with blood all over the sheets. We have pictures if anyone is doubtful. I called Venere in the morning as the incident took... More
