Hazlitt's hotel has an excellent location, walking distance to Soho Sq. & Leicester Sq., and has a nice historical feel. I stayed in couple rooms in this hotel, once in a lower-end room type that was very small and I could barely walk around the bed, but the second room, that was a level-up from the previous room I stayed... What would have been an exceptional hotel was marred by the inadequate bathroom facilities. Our "superior double" room (on the 3rd floor) had a good-looking roll top bath which was standing on roundels of wood then on a plinth which made it impossible for me (at 5 feet 2 inches) to get in and out of it safely. The lack... More

We stayed here for 1 night on 15th Feb 2013. It was a last minute booking made on the date of arrival. We arrived earlier than expected and were able to check in to our room straight away. The check in and check out process was straight forward. The hotel and rooms are quite unique and worth a visit, but... More

Very nice clean old hotel. Lots of history. Rooms are small and historic in decor. If your into visiting Soho the location is great. Sometimes the floor above squeaks but take that as a part of the experience. The staff are friendly and helpful. The bed is large enough to be comfortable which is a plus in some old properties.... Really refreshing to stay somewhere different. Hazlitts is certainly different in a really good way, old furniture, four poster beds, room names that have a meaning! The building is over 300 years old and the sloping floors and wonky stairs reflect that however the building is beautifully maintained and spotless. Customer Service was spot on from the moment we walked... More

This is an interesting, historic and unique property and hotel. It isn't, thank goodness, trying to be like every other London hotel but sits quietly (or as quietly as it can!) in Soho offering classy and tasteful Georgian accommodation and exemplary service from friendly and efficient staff. It has a literary theme, a quiet romance and achieves a relaxed and... More

We had a nice stay here but would probably not return. Felt as if the place were trading on it's location slightly and a few details could have been looked at. Certainly not a bad place to stay for an evening or two but wouldn't want to stay for longer as it lacks the comfort of a more modern hotel.... More

Right on Frith St and with all one could wish for in your "front garden". Like staying at somebody's very rich and rather eccentric Auntie's house, this was a fabulous experience. This place keeps it real, no faux tables or replica chairs, it is what it is. Hazlitt's has a real history and you can feel it on every uneven... More

We stayed here in August 2012, and once again, TripAdvisor didn't fail me. Hazlitt's courtesy shone through even before we stayed there -- we were in London en route to Paris and didn't want to carry all our bags with us. So we stopped by, explained how we were booked to stay there the following week, and asked if we... More

Booked a de-luxe room through booking.com for a special anniversary with my wife and specifically wanted a room with a free standing Victorian bath. When we were given an albeit very nice room (Jonathan Swift) without such a bath I complained to the manager who immediately gave us another room with the bath we wanted (Dr John Snow). Fabulous room... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Hazlitt's occupies a group of historic Georgian houses in Frith Street, off Soho Square. In 1718 there were no modern conveniences, but we have updated the plumbing, installed bathrooms and replaced most of the candles with electricity. At Hazlitt’s our philosophy is simple. We have set out to create the kind of accommodation we ourselves would love to find in the heart of one of the World’s great cities. Civilised surroundings; old fashioned hospitality; friendly efficient service; a location away from the roar of traffic, but within a very short walk of the most important attractions. ... more   less
