Short notice booking, wanting somewhere cheap and central which this place is. But it is a dump. £150 for a tiny room, single bed, no toilet in the room, threadbare carpets, thin walls is simply ripping customers off.

The Lancaster had an excellent location opposite Hyde Park and comfortable walking distance from Oxford St and Paddington. Common areas very pleasant and reception staff friendly. Great hotel, great room, great view. Not great value for money though, and everything when you're there is so expensive, especialy when you're factoring in the usual London staff-rudeness! I guess it is where it is... it's not a special place to go to with a loved one but was perfectly adequate for business travel.

The location, the size of the rooms, the cleanliness and good facilities and breakfast make this hotel great value for money. The rooms, although slightly dated are good to come back to - I'm not sure why some people expect "The Ritz" for these prices! Would recommend it.

The Lancaster is a decent enough hotel for London. It's rooms are large but overall could do with an overhall (very squeeky floorboards, small tv, limited plugs etc).
