The location is great and the neighborhood is safe. The owner is a nice gentleman and the atmosphere there is more or less like at home. Please note that this might not be a place for party-goer as the hostel itself is quite family-traveller-oriented. The shower room is old and in general the hostel is rather old. Just a surprise... Having previously studied abroad in Bloomsbury 5 years ago, I was so excited to be back in my old neighborhood. The location is great. 5 minutes from the British Museum, 5 from the University, squares all around you, and easy tube access. Room was a private double, and was adequate, garden view (aka basement). Adequately clean, tiny bathrooms. Toilet had... More

We stayed here for a week in March - rented a 3 bed room and couldn't have been any happier! Pickwick is an older building but when you read the history of the building it makes you feel part of London and it's story. Our room was on the top floor with a great view of Bedford Place which has... More

I stayed at Pickwick Hall for one night as an emergency had left me with nowhere to stay in London for one night. The first thing to note is that Pickwick Hall is a hostel, not a hotel or a B&B. I personally think it is excellent value-for-money for central London - I've stayed in worse hotels for 2 or... More

The location of Pickwick hall is excellent. It is very convenient if you need to be located in the university area without spending a fortune, besides it is just ten minutes away from Holborn, the city centre and the British Museum, set in a very quiet area. The building has a lot of potential, it is quaint, nicely located and... More

First of all, Pickwick Hall is a hostel, not a hotel. Having said that, I think it is an excellent hostel. Yes, the place is a bit run down but it is clean. There is a different between 'well used' and 'dirty'. It is a charming building with a beuatiful and cosy kitchen/breakfastroom (you can prepare your own meals). Sheets,... More

Patrick was very nice and helpful, but the place really needs to be kept up and checked out more often. My boyfriend and I got a private room with our own bathroom, and it was pretty disgusting so I am terrified to even imagine what the shared bathrooms and rooms are like. The entire room was about the size of... More

I found Pickwick Hall to be fantastic for the price and location. Not the best place for you to stay if your a light sleeper, but honestly where in London is ??? Location is perfect literally 300m away from a Holborn tube stop and about a kilometre away from Kings Cross Station. Perfect place for a first time London visitor... More

We stayed at Pickwick Hall for eight days at the start of our trip and two at the end. The location is first rate. Right in the heart of London with the British Museum a few minutes walk away, together with Oxford Street. Additionally two tubes stations (Russell Square and Holborn Station are 7-10 minutes walk away, also the number... More

We stay at Pickwick Hall everytime we visit London. It is the best value in town in a great location that allows you to see the best of London - either walking or using the handy tube stations nearby. The British Museum is only a 2 minute walk away! Having access to a kitchen and a fridge saved us lots... More
