Unfortunately all the premier inns and travelodges full so opted for this budget room. Dirty. Poor condition, squeaky cramped room, windows faulty so could not close resulting in traffic noise, no lift, dangerously tight stairs, dirty shower, rotted sink sealant etc. card machine broke so only took cash payment !!! Certainly never again and not moaning- just think it’s fair to let people know.

Friendly welcome from staff but that's the only good thing. No lights on the staircases, especially on the top floor. Dark, dingy room. Squeaky floors. Broken curtains. Cheap beds. Thin bedding. Cleanish bathroom but shower head completely scaled up with virtual stalactites! No bed lights so had to get out of bed to turn off light. Cheap but really, really poor. Alex Polizi would have a field day!

I was shunted to this hotel by the rudest manager (who managed both this hotel and the Pavillion Hotel, two doors down) because he would not give me the room his staff member (at the Pavillion Hotel) and I had agreed to (and I'd paid for) earlier in the day. The only nice thing I can say is that this hotel is a handy place to store your luggage. I disassembled the unstable, metal camp bed and put the plastic coated mattress on the floor. I then put my coat between the plastic and the thin sheet so I didn't slide and crinkle while I slept (when I did). I had to get the manager in to turn my shower off twice (with a hammer) and I treated the burns I got from the hot shower myself. There was no acknowledgement of the food poisoning I got from the breakfast (imagine a day vomiting in this disgraceful hotel with patchy wifi and even patchier TV reception with the smell of smoke wafting through the ill-fitting windows as staff smoked and talked outside the room at all hours of the day and night). I will say that the manager's attitude was consistent - when I left (having used the hotel for my luggage and having stayed at other hotels in Oxford and surrounds) and asked for help getting a taxi, he pointed me across the road and said "just walk over there". I noticed they treated male clients differently - as a female travelling on my own, I felt unsafe and thought the attitude of some of the staff was dismissive. The manager would not give me a refund which was the only reason I left my luggage there. I have never stayed anywhere worse and would recommend that the place is closed down!! DO NOT STAY HERE.

No fills basic and small room but clean. Decent en-suite module in room. Excellent value and good location. Turned up with a Booking.com reservation for 2024 a year early (!) but they fitted me in. Recommend if you need somewhere cheap and basic for a stay in London.

so that you do not have to waste your time reading any further, please please please take my advice and avoid this hotel like the plague. If you would like to know why then please read on.

Like others we took the gamble in that it was cheap and we were only staying the one night so thought 'whats the worst that can happen'....unfortunately it did. Upon arrival we were met by a male on reception who can only be described as rude. He did not speak much english but the englsih he knew consisted of phrases about money and paying for our room. We tried to pay by card but they said they could not take this as the machine had apparently broken so had to pay in cash which he was very keen to take off us. He then gave us our key but did not tell us how to get to our room and left us standing their wondering where to go as there are no directions to where each room is. After a while he tried to tell us where it is but struggled with the little english he knew but luckily for us it was not too hard to find.

Things had not got of to a good start but it only got worse in the room. The wallpaper was old and was coming off the wall in places, the duvet cover looked like something from the 60's and looked as if it had not been washed since then, the toilet seat was broken and had urine stains on it, the shower head was broken and did not work properly and our view out of our window consisted of a water stained outer wall. We were not impressed at all but as we only used the room for about 6 hours we stayed but left early the following morning, not even attempting the breakfast as we were worried about the state of the kitchen given the state of the room.
All in all i will not be returning and i can not believe people have rated this hotel as 5 stars as they must have stayed at a different hotel than we did. I strongly recommend you avoid this hotel.

Awful! Yes 'the four star hotel' is advertised as a B&B... & paying £84 to stay in the heart of London - one does not expect much BUT you do expect the very basics... This hotel seemed to lack almost everything!

Bonus - we arrived early,1hr before check in & we were immediately escorted to our bedroom! BUT... It went down hill from there...

Opening the room door was like opening the door of a fridge! We greeted by two storage heaters and a broken radiator...

The bed was a fold up camp bed, with a mattress that was covered in this hard plastic covering... On top of that lay two flimsy sheets & a dirty duvet cover which clearly had not been changed. There were long black hairs inside the bed - yuck!

The 'en-suite' was a toilet, sink and shower in a closet - similar to being in the bathroom on an aeroplane.

No bedside lamp or light switch or telephone as advertised!

Walls were paper thin an the door didn't appear safe. It felt as if when neighbouring guests were opening their own bedroom doors they were trying to open ours. It felt as if they were in our room as they climbed the stairs!

Upon booking a 'full English breakfast' was supposed to be part of the reservation! At 8am,a tray with two glasses of orange juice, two small cereal boxes, two stale croissants and two muffins appeared outside the door? Much to our disappointment.

A glorified hostel...! If even that...

Terrible, Dirty rooms. Very dirty mattress and bed sheets. Each side of the bathroom has some kind of stains which are ugly to look at. The room cleaner is very rude. The only + point is the location otherwise it is one of the ugliest places i've visited. Thumbs down.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Dirty dingy room, beds had a kind of plastic coating, spindly metal frame, with unstable metal legs. Cheap furniture that was scuffed all over. The bathroom was dirty, the window in the bedroom filthy the net curtain filthy, carpet filthy, and add to that the attitude of the man at the desk. I doubt the electrics are safe. Dont waste your money.

We stayed at this hotel over the weekend. We booked it via "Trivago" website and it was one of the cheapest hotels available. Bear this in mind when reading the following comments. It is in a fantastic location for transport around London. It is walking distance to Paddington & Marylebone stations and also to underground stations. Buses run from outside the hotel and its 10 minutes walk to Marble arch. The reception was manned 24hrs and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The bed linen was clean as was the bathroom and the hotel was quiet at night. Unfortunately the room itself was not so good. It was badly in need of re-decorating and the furniture was very dilapidated. The heated towel rail was hanging off the wall on 2 screws and there was no plug for the sink. Two of the electric sockets did not work & neither did the shaver socket. The only sockets that did work were underneath a desk and they were also "hanging" off the wall. I would not let my wife use them and I plugged in the kettle myself, VERY carefully! Continental breakfast was left outside the room from 7am in a large sealed plastic container. I thought this was a strange arrangement and I`m not sure why this was so? However it did mean that we did not have to get up early for breakfast! As I say, you get what you pay for. Remember it is cheap as long as you know what to expect (which is why we write these reviews on TripAdvisor).
