We booked for a three day break the first night we decided to have the lobster thermidor which was advertised, and was told that the lobster was too expensive to buy, we then chose the surf and turf which was an extra £5. the steak was tough, the languostine was a large prawn and the scamp tails and prawns in... This hotel looks like it has been refurbished, but we did have a couple of small issues, the hot water in the sink took about 10 min to heat up and the curtains in the room kept hardly any light out in the early morning. The mamagement was very receptive and helpful though and gave us a bottle of wine with... We stayed 3 nights over the Easter weekend with our Dog Mimi. The room was small but very clean, comfortable and decorated to a good standard. The hotel staff were friendly and very accommodating, we were made to feel very welcome including the dog. Breakfast was set up for us in the bar so that could eat with Mimi rather... More

Stayed at the Seacliff for 2 nights over the weekend before Easter. Our room was clean and recently refurbished, and had a good view of the sea. Staff was friendly and helpful most of the time we were there. However on the Monday, our last day we were awoken by builders banging at 9.00a.m., yet nowhere on the website does... More

Why there are so many bad reviews about this place is a mystery to myself and family who spent the weekend here. We stayed in room 14 which had spectacular sea views, en suit shower room, the room was modernly decorated with all the faclitites you need for a weekend away, tea and coffee making facilities including biscuits. There was... More

Stayed at this hotel for a short break In January. We had a seaview room on the 2nd floor (Room14) It was very clean and comfortable and it was lovely to wake up in the morning to such a lovely view out of the window. Breakfasts were really nice. If you like your eggs poached the chef here certainly knows... More

Great place to stay for a family with teenagers. Originally booked for 2 nights but extended it for an extra night. Had lovely rooms, fabulous breakfast. Lovely evening meals. Owners and staff very helpful. Great fountains of knowledge on the history of Whitby and surrounding areas. Good location for an early morning walk.
