Normally like to stay at Premier Inn but none available in whitby so we chose to stay at The George, Just as good! Had a brilliant night in the bar, staff and location spot on! Trip advisor reviews were a little off putting but cant understand why? Brilliant stay, we will be back!

had a pleasant stay in the george hotel, Rooms had recently been refurbished to a high standard Staff were really good and helpful,only gripe would be breakfast, the restaurant was very basic and the food could have been better Overall enjoyed the hotel which is in an ideal location

Went into this Hotel for a couple of drinks, atmosphere good, and the bar staff excellent. Would recommend it to anyone. Well worth a vist

The staff were friendly and helpful, even mentioning as we booked, that the room we selected (low floor with en-suite) was over the bar area and might be subject to some noise. we paid £60 for one night mid week. Having read previous reviews, I feared the worst! However, it wasn't QUITE as bad as I expected - but it was very poor value for money. Total disgusting place to stay..no heating on arrival and snowing outside...take heed of this report and others before it..i'm not hard to please but really be warned i'd never return to that cold smelly place..stay at a B+B of which are far superior in Whitby...The Hotel Inspector would close the place down....
