Stayed here over the bank holiday weekend. Nice clean spacious room. Good size sofa bed for the kids. Not a massive amount of storage space but ok for a weekend. Swimming pool good. Only ate breakfast in hotel but good choice available. Great central location. Easy walk into town centre so great for sight seeing.

I don't think there is much point in reviewing a Novotel against the standards set by some of the top class hotels because that isn't what they're about. The location of this hotel is just perfect. The staff very friendly and helpful. The room was clean but the bed not too comfortable,furthermore, the left side of the bed was barely a foot from the wall, not too practicle when you get out of bed in the middle of the night and bump in the wall. IIt seems you pay for the location of this hotel in the City of York. The room was clumsily laid out and boasted itself as an “Executive Room”, it was not. Like most hotels the housekeeping staff are obviously rushed off their feet to maintain a minimum standard. The shelves in the room had obviously not been dusted in weeks.... More

Stayed in executive room and was most impressed - particularly by the bathroom which is one of the best I've come across - well lit, excellent range of shampoos/soap etc. Good shower and separate bath. Novotel York Centre is a modern, nice hotel just outside York city walls and city centre can be easily reached with a pleasant stroll along the river. We stayed for one night with our 5 year old son, lovely clean comfortable room, friendly staff excellent childrens facilities and very well situated with plenty of parking would stay here again
