this hotel is idealy situated for visiting york no need to drive as the hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the city centre and the minster we stayed in one of the delux doubles in the hotel which was pure bliss the hotel food is superp and the full english breakfast is just todie for the staff are friendly... It was like being incarcerated in a tropical prison. The radiators were on full, the windows were sealed shut, the room was oppressive, the room wasn't very clean, the service was poor, I wouldn't recommend staying here at all.

We paid top dollar for an executive room and got a room where the windows did not open and no other ventilation and had a smell of paint and we slept only half the first night. Stayed at the Lady Anne Middleton's Hotel in August, 2011. Great location, rooms were clean and tidy, food excellent. Staff were only too happy to go out of their way to be helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them to help a couple of senior "Aussies". Would seriously recommend LAM's as a place to stay - "luved it"
