Stayed here 19/05/12 with 5 other friends (4 of them were here for 2 nights) luckily we were only staying for the Saturday evening. I dont really know where to start as there was so much wrong with this place. Front door was not very nice and on entering the hall there was an overpowering smell and the decor left... More

This B&B was very poor, verging on terrible. The building did not feel secure, and the bedroom doors were so light and ill-fitting that we felt quite worried leaving anything in the room. The so called "family room" is on the 3rd floor, accessed via a spiral staircase - beware anyone with small children - you'd have to carry a... More

I visited this B&B with my Grandfather mid-october. He has always been very interested in trains and so the station and museum was our primary interest. The room was on the top floor but once up it was very pleasant. The room was rather small but well laid out and was more than adequate for our stay. Breakfast was very... More

This was the worst B&B my mother and I stayed at in the whole of the United Kingdom. Truly disgraceful. 'Twin' accomodation consisted of a double bed, with a single bed dragged onto the floor next to it. A dirty bathroom, awful breakfast and noise made this place a dive. Avoid like the plague

Weird service... Left on doorstep for ages and had to pay in cash by pushing my money under the private area door. Family constantly arguing very loudly... Room was absolutely tiny - very cramped! Breakfast was excellent.

Although not an infrequent visitor to York, I've tended in the main to opt for day visits. However recently I had the opportunity to meet up with other family members and we decided upon a weekend stay in the city. Competition for accomodation in a busy tourist city such as York is always at a premium. However The Beckett were... More

Not very good.not worth £80 per night. The ceiling in the breakfast room will fall down on some ones food one day.It seems there was a leak, and the coving and cieling plaster looked as if if was about to fall down.very unnerving. The place itself is very dated and dowdy,Wi Fi is a week signal not much good.

Our stay was unfortunately not a good one and we had to relocate due to unsatisfactory bedding and furniture which was unsafe and unhygenic. Put a dampener on our visit.

We had booked a 3 night stay at this hotel for the price of 2. We arrived a little earlier than expected. There was no answer to us ringing the doorbell and knocked the door. It started their dog off barking though. Eventually we rang the owner and she gave us the door code and told us where the key... More
