We were greeted by the owner, given a brief tour, asked if we needed any brochures, directions and shown to our room. The Full English breakfast was delicious. The owners were helpful and very friendly and so were the other guests. My first experience in a B & B, so I will try again.

Everything about 85 Fulford Road was fantastic. My double room which I was using for single occupancy was very comfortable, well furnished and well decorated, with ensuite bathroom. We had 3 nights in Chelmford Place Guest House and it was just a perfect experience - one of our days was wet and we'd been on a historic walk of the city and were damp and chilled, so we just walked back 'home' for a shower and a cuppa in our room - with a biscuit - all provided!... More

I desperately needed somewhere cheap to stay last minute in York. This guest house was absolutely perfect. It was warm and cosy, it was very clean and tidy. My husband and I had a great time at this lovely b&b. The room was spacious and clean, staff extremely friendly, walking distance to York City Centre. Strongly recommend!

I highly recommend Chelmsford Place. Nigel and Wendy are the friendliest hosts and upgraded us for free when there was a longer term booking for our room.
