The room was small with a tiny tv. However the room was clean. The pub itself was dated with a uninspiring menu and substandard pub grub. We stayed for one night at The Windmill with friends! It's only a 10/15 minute drive into the centre of York, but there's a park and ride a few minutes away if you prefer! I just stayed the one night in a twin room, sharing. The beds were almost touching they were that close together. On the whole not a bad stay, the room was clean with a nice bathroom with shower. The breakfast was great, can't fault it. Slightly too far out of town to go back and stay again.

The Windmill York ticks the boxes for me. If you are visiting the fascinating city of York then I suggest staying overnight at least. The Windmill pub/hotel is a really pleasant stopover. We regularly visit The Windmill, & have had family gatherings here too, would deffo reccomend the Steak pie, ask for extra gravy if you like plenty... ... ...

We were visiting family in York and were recommended to the Windmill by our niece. We had been to Monks Cross christmas shopping so decided to try it......glad we did. Excellent service ,the staff were so friendly and the food was great and reasonably priced. We will be back !!!!
