My family and I stayed overnight for my sister's 21st birthday. I stayed in a twin executive room which was very spacious and tastefully decorated with a large bathroom that had an excellent bath and shower. The bed was very comfortable. My sister stayed in a lake view superior room which was beautifully decorated in a way that enhanced the... More

I recently had lunch for a party of 30 guests to celebrate a special event. We had a 2 course lunch drinks and coffee at the Georgetown restaurant. We started out with drinks on the patio outside and then moved into the restaurant for a sit down meal. the hotel itself has been beautifully restored and is a tranquil location... More

Colwick Hall looks beautiful as you round the corner, but sadly its current guise is letting it and its history down. For some reason, it's branded as 'Georgetown Colonial', with references to Singapore Slings etc. This seems a bit muddled, not to say phoney ! The reception area is very uninviting. The decor throughout is largely cheap and nasty looking... More

We recently held a medium sized ball at Colwick, accommodating 150 seated guests. The staff were exceptionally accommodating whilst planning the ball and during the evening. Many guests commented on the fantastic menu and enjoyed the splendour of the venue. The DJ which was provided ensure that people thoroughly enjoyed the evening and danced throughout. The staff were amazing, lovely... More

We stayed at this hotel while on a last minute visit to family. As the visit was planned rather hurriedly, we found it nigh impossible to find a place to stay. I called over 20 hotels and they were all full, this was the only place that still had rooms (between us, this might be telling). Overall, it was adequate... More

"Fur Coat, No Knickers" was the phrase that springs to mind when visiting this hotel. Sure, it looked reasonably grand from the exterior, however when entering, the authenticity was lost in a whirlwind of tat that was largely unsympathetic to the historic building. We arrived rather late at night after a long journey and it was favourable that we could... More

I have stayed here twice now as I have to work up in Nottingham every so often, the building is beautiful, great friendly staff. The continental breakfast had plenty of choice with fresh juices, fresh white and brown bread to toast, yoghurts, fresh fruit, etc. I have been on the second floor both times, so lots of stairs to get... We stayed with family while visiting friends that live in Nottingham. An alternative choice to the usual city centre hotels just 5 mins taxi from the heart of Nottingham. It's a rather grand old building surrounded by grassland with a lake on one side and racecourse on the other. Although I understand that this place was resurrected from being derelict... More

Stayed in one of the superior rooms for one night. I was generally happy with the hotel, room and location and would go again. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was well presented and clean. I paid a bit more for a superior room but didnt feel i had value for money. The room was extremeley... More

Failed on all counts to deliver what the website promises. Looks good from the outside but that's it. Stayed in an executive room, definitely nothing executive about it, dirty and marked carpet, bathroom not as clean as could be, pillows like bricks, hole in duvet cover. Breakfast was until 10am, went down at 9.50am to find it almost cleared away... More
