Had a great night staying at Barnfield (April 2013). Helen, Michael and the team were excellent. Highly recommend to use as a base for anyone going for walks in the Peaks or going into Sheffield for any reason. Rooms lovely and clean with great views over the valley. Breakfast was varied and had a good, hearty quality.

This is one of the most welcoming places I have ever been. It's beautifully decorated, the service is fabulous, it's spotlessly clean and the breakfast is superb. To top it off, the views are wonderful. I shall return. Thank you for a fabulous stay.

We stayed for 3 nights over Easter and had a really enjoyable stay. The B&B is located just outside Sheffield (just past the village of Loxley) on the edge of the Peak District. The owners are very friendly without being on top of you during your stay but there were a number of small touches which really showed the care... More

The BH is a very well run establishment which provides excellent service. We enjoyed our hosts, especially their northern accents. The bed was big and comfy and the room and bathroom were tastefully decorated. The little things count. The breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed watching the birds. Thank you.

Helen was very welcoming. We stayed in the Maid Marian room. Lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The rooms had all everything you could need - bathrobes, slippers, tea & coffee, wifi, magazines. The breakfast was delicious :)

We had the most lovely romantic break between Christmas and New Year. This place is so welcoming and friendly. The small touches and attention to detail made our stay perfect. We will be back :) ....better than 5*
