Our wedding was at Foxholes Farm on 30th March 2013. The Saturday before the wedding 18 inches of snow was dumped on Sheffield. Rachel was amazing, she phoned me on the Monday and said that we needed a 'plan b' for parking as the field where cars normally go would be covered and the road where cars go if the... More

Very convenient location for Sheffield city centre and access to the Peak District and the villages of Low and High Bradfield are useful for pubs and village shops. However, the Foxholes accommodation is very average. Stayed in the two double bedroom cottage and the beds are truly awful with very old and lumpy mattresses that should have been replaced years... We do indeed enjoy a location which is 20 minutes by car to Sheffield in one direction and the breathtaking delights of areas such as Castleton, Chatsworth and Derwent Reservoirs approximately 30 minutes by car in the opposite location, we are however located directly within the boundary of the Peak District ourselves. The mattresses in Cottage 3 have recently been... More

I could not agree more with the review below, Rachel is terrible at customer service and incredibly disorganised to be entrusted as a 'wedding planner'. We booked Foxholes 2 years prior to our wedding date, e.g. when it was much more a case of hire the venue and the rest is up to you. We planned to use it only... More

Historic Use Previously wedding parties would historically book sole use of Foxholes Farm and would effectively be given the keys for a weekend and left to their own devices. However we changed our approach to this in 2012 and started providing use of a marquee on site along with luxury portaloos, and offering the catering services of a local professional... More

Disappointing, cold and highly stressful would sum up our experience of Foxholes Farm as a wedding reception venue for several reasons, some of which are listed below The marquee - photos on website in no way represent the marquee that is actually used; We were promised a new marquee- the one we actually had was in excess of 10years old... Heater The client in this instance refused to pay the hire charge of £150 for the industrial heater which is kerosene fed and heats the marquee to a warm 25 degree, even though they clearly needed it as their wedding was held in March. They instead asked us to provide free of charge small gas heaters which would have warmed... More

We were very disappointed with our apartment. It was generally rather grotty. The carpet was filthy and covered in stains. The sofa's were very old and uncomfortable and had sagged greatly after so much use. They were also rather stained. Our double bed was ok but the kids complained about theirs. You could feel the springs through one of them.... More

Firstly we must comment that there is no excuse for poor levels of cleanliness and indeed it seems the frying pan had seen better days, this was of course replaced immediately by our cleaning lady, upon request by the guest, and we do again apologise for this oversight by housekeeping. We would like to comment that Cottage 6 which Mr... More

We stayes in Foxholes Farm for 10 nights. It's a very beautiful old place, for some real peace and quiet. It feels like it's in the middle of nowhere, but it's only een 30 minutes drive to Sheffield city centre. We only had cellphone reception in one of the bedrooms. The cottage has just enough kitchen utensils etc. if you... More

We came to Sheffield for a 4 day stay and we are so happy we found Foxholes. With a newborn baby (7 weeks) a 6 year old and a 4 year old, hotels are a nightmare. Foxholes had everything we wanted at an amazing cost. Cottage 6 has a twin bedroom for the girls, a double for us that had... More

Excellent - lovely setting close to a great city. The building is beautiful and the accommodation was comfortable and fuss-free. Only slight whinge would be the storage heaters - we were staying in the winter and it was difficult to achieve a satisfactory temperature later in the evening.

Many thanks for your great comments. We appreciate that there are [problems inherent with the storage heaters and we are looking at the costs to replace the last two cottages which have this heating method with central heating to ensure that all guests have a comfortable stay. More
