This privately-owned 3-star hotel has a great location in the old town area of Shrewsbury. It's in a narrow cobbled street, and there are several bars and restaurants within a stone's-throw of the front door. The main shopping street is 150/200 yards away, but doesn't spoil the quaint surroundings. One excellent feature of the hotel is free valet parking. There's... More

Stayed here on 3 occasions now. First time we stayed in a Mansion house suite as it was a special occasion - never seen such a quirky set of stairs leading up to our room the 'Prince Maurice Suite' Room was immaculately clean. Lovely cast iron bed and roll top bath felt like the room was decorated in keeping with... More

Another great stay at the prince rupert, we stayed previously over new year and decided to return for our 10 th wedding anniversary, the staff were great as usual even having an anniversary card in the room on our arrival. Can't rate this hotel highly enough, the history and atmosphere of the building are fabulous, and it's location right in... More

We always go for lunch in the Rupert (Chambers). Tasty, slightly contemporary light lunches which we always enjoy. Staff are always pretty attentive and we always enjoy our meals there, in the olde-world building. Nice and dark and cosy. No outside eating area as far as I know. Haven't ever stayed in the hotel itself, so can't comment on this... More

I stayed here with two friends for a weekend. It's located in the historic centre of the town, very convenient for exploring by foot. The staff are friendly, the food is good, the valet parking works well. The room I stayed in was could have used a little TLC to spruce it up, but for the rate I was paying,... More

My wife and I spent two nights here visiting family over the Easter holiday period and had stayed here previously. The hotel has great charm and a sense of history, situated in the old black and white area of Shrewsbury. It is very centrally located for exploring the shops and the sights on foot. If you are a fan of... More
