Five members of my family stayed here last July. I'm still so angry about the experience that I feel I have to save others from making the same mistake. The hotel was overpriced, decor dated, & the staff was surly. When we complained about the rooms and lack of heat we were told "Tough!" & "It's not cold to us!"... More

Not a hotel more b@b. one man does all! The rooms in need of much updating and fixtures, fittings and furniture need to be replaced. The bar charged £4 for a can of lager! The heating wasn't working and we had no apology when we reported it. It was December! This was nowhere near worth the£260.00 that we paid for... More

We stayed for three nights and were made very welcome despite our booking service first of all making our booking and then the following day cancelling it! Martin and Sheena dealt with this in a most professional manner and we were soon shown to a magnificent room overlooking the valley. The hotel is quiet and peaceful and just what we... More

My wife and I stayed for a couple of nights at the Cliffe in September 2011. We were given a very comfortable room - our first four-poster bed - and enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is small (11 rooms) and does not cater for weddings so your peace and quiet is unlikely to be disturbed. The feel is... More

We stayed for a couple of nights with with friends, primarily to visit Bath. I think I am being fair to say that this hotel is delightfully old fashioned, in its decor and some of the facilities, but also in the attention from the owners, the overall service, and the general feeling that you are very welcome. A little story... More

Since we were visiting the American Museum, we chose this hotel as it was near to Claverton Manor. It is a bit tricky to find but well worth the effort. This is a traditional hotel with comfy armchairs and sofas, a bar and a spacious airy dining room. We were given Room 4 which has magnificent views down the valley... More

My girlfriend and I stayed there for two nights over the bank holiday weekend in May 2010. To be honest we were a bit daunted by the many negative reviews, but booked it regardless as it was one of the few hotels with rooms left (we booked last minute) and we also liked that it was outside of the city.... Stayed here in Nov last year. This really shouldn't be a hotel on BW's list as it's definatley more of a B&B. Very outdated rooms, radiators didn't work properly hence room was very cold and also an uncomfortable bed. I suspect that there is actually no chef in this hotel and that the owner cooks the food (at least that... More
