I have been staying and using the Hurtwood Inn Hotel as a business and personal guest for several years, and without question it is one of my favourite venues. Set in a lovely rural traditional village, it provides a beautiful setting for my meetings. The staff are always helpful, attentive and nothing ever seems too much trouble! In a recent... More

Spent ages looking for a good dog friendly hotel in the Guidford area, so we could take our young dog with us while visiting family and friends in the area. Booking was simple and super efficient, a quick e mail enquiry from us, in the evening prompted a positive response within a few minutes. The price was per room with... More

Went to this hotel to attend a conference and it was a surprising experience. Driving out of Heathrow you go along the M25 with all its traffic and stress...and then, when you get out, you start driving through narrow country roads until you arrive in a tiny little village called Peaslake...you are in a completely different world in one hour.... We have not stayed here, so cannot comment on the rooms - but this has become a target for our walks in the Surrey Hills, as it makes a great lunch stop. The menu is much the same as in many other pubs, and there is no haute cuisine on offer, but what makes the Hurtwood Inn different is the... More

This hotel has everything - a bar with a log fire, a restaurant with an excellent menu and rooms with great facilities. My room was a good size with a large double bed, television, hairdryer, plenty drawers and a desk. The desk was especially handy as I was there for a Creative Writing weekend and used the desk for writing(!).... More

Visiting from the U.S., I wasn't quite sure what to expect -- after all, privately-owned hotels haven't had the greatest of reputations in the states over the past few decades. It did, however, have good proximity to London as well as roughly equal driving to Dover and Wincanton (both on my itinerary). I couldn't have been more pleased by what... More

5th trip back to this no fuss inn. Good food, accommodation is simple, and comfortable, it is like being in a time warp in the 60's. Great place to stay with dogs, no one seems to mind. Parking can be a bit tricky unless you get there early. It is quite hard to find, a maze of roads and lanes,... More

The beds were comfortable, the staff were friendly, the breakfast was plentiful and delicious but that was where any similarity to the experience depicted in the website ended. On arrival we were given our keys to 'a garden room' which is a nice way of saying 'a damp, dated, motel style room out the back with a bathroom that is... More

I stayed here for three nights while attending a meeting in Guildford. My room was in the main building. It was clean and very quiet. I do hope that during the next renovation they remove the carpet from the bathroom and put in a conventional shower, but other than that I can think of no complaints. The hotel had a... More

My colleague and I ended up in one of the attached challets to the hotel. Although the exterior location is very hobit land (lord of the rings) the interior is much more 1950 george and mildread. Food is expensive and not that great. Rooms in the summer still have the linger of damp. Duvets are not provided only a old... More
