After reading a very positive review in the Sunday Sun, I decided to book up with friends today. The pub itself is nice, with lots of outdoor seating and comfortable surroundings inside where we chose to sit. We were starving and ordered from the £9.95 for 2 courses menu. We opted for Beer battered mushrooms, calamari, and soup of the... More

Had tea with some friends over from Canada, 2 of us chose chicken ceaser salad. Limp sad bitter tasting lettuce leaves, 2 flakes of parmesan, chewy cold chicken slab, with a deep fried (?????) poached egg on top. Quite horrid. Another friend had Tuna steak, he said it was rubbish. Won't be returning. Couple of years ago, food was lovely... More

We live locally so, as it had been a while since we'd eaten here, we decided to give it another go. Shouldn't have bothered. Whilst they've improved the dining area to be more reminiscent of a restaurant than a pub and while the staff are really pleasant, the food just isn't up to much. Maybe the menu is too huge... More

Travelled down from edinburgh to watch rugby and booked the Falcons nest as it was close to the ground. Both adult and kids menu offered great choice. Food was first class, well presented and a substantial portion, certainly not left still feeling hungry. Service was good and friendly. Great value for money and would certainly return for more prior to... More

Staying overnight at the Travelodge whilst visiting a trade show at the adjacent racecourse Falcons Nest is located right next door. With a natural suspicion of 'chains', the location was too good to miss. The bar staff were friendly and welcoming, happy to offer advice on the cask beers available. Following a recommendation from friend we sat in the restaurant... More

We have stayed at this Innkeepers Lodge before, but now it has been taken over by Travelodge. The room was still very clean and comfortable. The only difference was that instead of going over to the Falcons Nest for continental breakfast, a breakfast bag is now delivered to the room each morning. This breakfast bag consists of a very small... More
