I stayed at 'Grand Hotel' on business, although the staff were friendly and helpful the buildings (the hotel actually seems to be a series of residential properties) were well below par, even for a budget hotel. I paid £57 as I booked on the day, the website I booked it on claimed that the standard rate was £120 which I...

This hotel is very close to my house and I was looking for somewhere to put my family not long before Christmas 2011. Bit of a delay writing this, sorry. Due to the negative reviews on here I decided to go have a look a look in advance. The gentleman on reception was very very helpful and he happily showed...

Stayed here during a cold winter week. The 'grand' hotel is in fact a series of attached houses transformed into a hotel. My top floor room was quite large, and would have been OK, except, there was absolutely NO heating at all. Unacceptable.
One night stay here proved enjoyable. Staff were really helpful. The hotel is essentially split into two buildings. The room was comfortable and reasonably clean.
Breakfast can be had on site but dinner had to be taken off site at either a Malayasian or Indian Restaurant some two minutes walk away.
This may appear unconventional for a Hotel but if...

I stayed in this hotel earlier in the year. First of all, from the main road I could not find the entrance (which turned out to be on a side road). I telephoned, was let in a front door and found myself in the middle of a wedding reception (most embarassing). My single room was cold and the carpet very...

Lovely spacious and well equipped room. Vast bathroom, great towels. No skimping on beverage making stock or indeed toiletries. Most appreciated was the hospitality from the warm & welcoming team. So pleased now that I didn't follow the sheep and book into the chain hotel at the other end of town.
This hotel offered good value for money in a good location. It was well placed for the NEC and surrounding attractions (we were visiting Stoneleigh Park just a few miles away) and there is a large choice of restaurants within walking distance.
The hotel layout is slightly odd being split over 3 seperate buildings. Our room would have benefitted from...

Stayed this Saturday night.
Warm welcome on arrival and we were shown to our room. Lovely big family room (booked a twin) with single and double bed in separate rooms (archway between them) and good shower. Tea and coffee making, comp water and biscuits.
We noticed a lovely lounge (sort of upstairs conservatory) on the way up to the room...

Look beyond the sparkly chandeliers and grand paintings and you'll see stained carpets, dirty marks on the Walls, broken plugs, pillows made of brick and food tentatively linked to a full English! Alright for a night though and the service was nice
