Ate here from the pre theatre menu, crap service and a meal that wouldn't have been regarded as acceptable in a second rate pub. We were looking at staying at this hotel but with food of this quality I'd rather stay at McDonalds

Stayed one night at the Mercure Shakespeare. Recommended by a colleague. Room was big, clean and comfy bed. We stayed in this hotel for one night. Got a good price on booking.com room only so can't comment on breakfast. Had a room at end of corridor on second floor which was lovely and quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this hotel - the staff were excellent and we felt really looked after, the hotel was spotless and full of character, the room was lovely and we had a meal in the hotel restaurant one night which was very tasty and a really good price. I would very much remommend this hotel.
