Friendly staff helped with bags and numerous questions. Would stay again in what appears to be newer addition in the back. The many stairs and uneven floors, while historic, were a bit hard on arthritic knees. Stayed three nights and found cleaning staff really did their job well. Bathroom was recently remodeled; shower/bath controls a bit complicated. Car park in... More

A beautiful centrally located Hotel within walking distance to all he sights in stratford. Parking at £10 per 24 hours but not very big but adequate. The interior is in need of some tlc. The double room was adequate with bath and shower but very small. The carpets are quite worn on the stairs and a general brush up would... More

A wonderful Tudor facade on a hotel ideally situated for RSC theatres - the Shakespeare being only five minutes walk away. The public areas are comfortable but we cannot comment on the restaurant as we did not eat there. We were offered breakfast at £10 per head when we arrived but as there is a Wetherspoons on Sheep Street where... More

We stayed for two nights in this lovely hotel. Excellent location. Not a very big carpark so you need to book to park.. But there is an NCP carpark just a few metres away and you get a discount if you ask the staff. The hotel itself has very friendly staff, We had a very cute room named twelfth night.(small)... More

On many trips to Stratford always fancied staying here but always seemed pricey so when found a good deal - let's do it! Hotel very attractive exterior right in town centre and close to theatre. Car park [£10 per day] tricky to find and not large. Reception v.friendly and we were offered an upgrade for £30 to a large room... More

On arrival at the hotel there was no one on reception, eventually found a member of staff in the restaurant who fetched a receptionist. The room we were given was definately not 4*, did not reflect website photographs, went to reception to ask for another room and was told 'we are full and you are last here we have no... More

I've stayed at the Shakespeare many times before. The location is perfect - very central and easy stroll to the restaurants and theatre. It was a surprise birthday trip for my partner and we were meeting friends there. The hotel reception staff were great and played their part in the surprise aspect flawlessly! Service in the bar was very slow... More

We have just returned from an overnight stay at this lovely hotel - where we promised ourselves one day we would stay. We were not disappointed. For a very reasonable price, we enjoyed a spacious junior suite, with dinner and breakfast. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was plentiful, attractively presented and there was... More

What a fabulous weekend! We found a deal on Travel Zoo for two nights at The Shakespeare Hotel, very reasonable including a three course meal with wine and breakfast both days and free upgrade to a Privelage room all for £194.00. The hotel itself is superbly located in the Town Centre just minutes walk from all the attractions and the... More
