We booked a twin room at Hatters in Birmingham on relatively short notice and stayed one night. The hostel is located opposite to a rail bridge at the edge of the rather nice jewellery quarter. It is a rather small house and the massive size of the rooms was quite a surprise to us. The rooms are great by themselves,... More

Booked for a stag do, group of 15. Didn't seem to be many groups. Seemed popular with travellers. The communal area downstairs was impressive and easily on par with hostels on the continent. Friday night there was free pizza and a movie. The staff were helpful throughout. Cheap and cheerful. We stayed in a large room which was cramped but... More

We were at the Hatters Hostel in Birmingham for 9 days. It is one of the best hostels we have ever booked. We asked for a double room, with a great window. Heaters, TV, en-suite bathroom and wifi were there. Great location, within 10 minutes walking distance from the City Centre and 3-4 minutes from the closest rail station (Snow... More

Probably the best hostel I've stayed in for fun and friendliness. The staff are all really friendly, which if you're travelling by yourself (which I was) is very important. The beds are comfy and all the rooms have en suite bathrooms, which in my room was massive. Room to swing a cat and more :) ! You get free breakfast... More

We arrived for a weekend trip to Birmingham on a Friday evening, only to be told that the booking I had made a month in advance and which had been confirmed by the hostel directly (by email and telephone) was not on their system and they had no room available for us. The staff apologised for the "inconvenience" but it... More

I booked two rooms at Hatters last minute for a group of four. Our rooms were clean, generous in size and tastefully decorated with comfy beds. The bathroom was also a good size and with a decent shower. The building itself has a lot of character to it and a friendly vibe to it. The staff were helpful and friendly.... More
