We stayed for one night here. Very central, reasonable price but not cheap. The heating was a bit too warm for me and there was a wonky toilet seat but overall quite a good room. Staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very quiet and the bathtowel was the biggest I had ever seen.

Overall I can't complain about the room or staff, both very good, however I had a room over looking bridge street and it seems that there was no sound proofing! All the drunks that were out until nearly 3am and the noise of the pub below have put me off staying ever again, which is a real shame as the... More

Rooms are located above a great pub. Very economical, GREAT VALUE! large comfortable beds, good size rooms, some rooms have tubs/ others just showers. Ask for your preference. No free toiletries, so bring your own. Wi-fi in Pub, not in rooms. lot's of Character... If you're looking for a great place to stay, big on comfort, low on price. this... More

Its a Weatherspoon pub hotel so I expected the pub noise and the actual building is really pretty from the front. Arrived about 7pm and no answer at reception so went to other door into pub area and was asked to leave as wearing jogging bottoms. Told them I had booked a room there and they said you have to... A lovely old building in a central location. Reception is on the first floor, only accessable by lift. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, we had previously stayed here in April 2011, but on that occasion, weren't happy with our rooms location, this time they offered us a selection and of 3 rooms to choose from, we viewed them all,... Stayed for one night. Nice hotel staff and good clean rooms. Pub/bar staff need a good sharp shock. More intent on talking to each other than the customers, not rude, but certainly not polite to their customers, you feel like you are in the way as are the greasy tables which get cleared but not wiped. Would stay again in... More

Thought it looked nice from outside , but bar area filthy, loads of staff on - no-one caring to clean up. 7.30 on a Tuesday steak night, but no steaks, no beefburgers! Chef came out with the most disgustng bloodstained dirty apron. Come on wetherspoons you can do better than this!!

Having found that there is no parking nor anywhere to unload I cancelled my booking in person before 1200 (the deadline) only to find later that I was charged. Despite contacting via the company web address I have still received no satisfaction in this matter. Their email response told me that they had an unload location but that was obviously... More

An attractive building in a good location. The staircase leading to the rooms is very tired but the room itself was clean and comfortable. We were on the front above the vodka bar,so did get noise in the early hours but expected it, being it was a Saturday..You need to close the window so it does also get a bit warm.Bathroom was... We Needed somewhere to stay as won tickets to football in london and cannot get back to east devon afterwards. got to the bar at 1pm and had a quick burger deal with two very nice pints of stowford press.
