I resided at this hotel at the previous weekend. Not a warm welcome to start, no one to welcome us, I found insufficient staff they seemed to be muti-tasking, no staff for set departments. Bedroom needed a deep clean. The hotel could be such a lovely place to stay if all was well and up dated as it is in... More

We stayed at The Gwydyr Hotel with our 2 small children for a few days just after Christmas and had a fantastic time. The hotel is very warm and cosy and the children were made to feel very at home. There is plenty of space to not feel enclosed if the weather isn't always good outside. In the afternoons after... More

We were visiting Wales over Christmas and agreed that we would take our Children to Betws y Coed as we hadn't been there since we were children. We visited a few gift shops which were lovely and all had such pleasant staff. It was lunch time and this hotel looked nice from the outside so in we went. On entering... More

They also have a cafe attached to the Hotel called Banjos Cafe. They do a superb breakfast for under £5.00

A bit of confusion in the beginning re location. Google Maps had it in a village WELL OUTSIDE Betws-y-Coed but it turned out to be definitely in central Betws-y-Coed. The owners need to get onto Google to rectify this very important detail. Good central location (not that the town is very big). Comfortable room. Satisfying breaky. Some confusion at breaky... More

We stayed at The Gwydyr Hotel for one night as part of a road trip. We found the rooms to be of a standard you would expect from a 3 star hotel. I would recommend spending the evening in the bar. The food is quite good, the beer cheap and with a jukebox and 50p per play pool table you... More

were to start!..... Miserable, grumpy, money grabbing owners ; everything simply too much trouble, unless they can charge for it. A tired run down hotel with no investment since these ageing owners took over ,walls peeling and the cheapest running repairs everywhere. Breakfast ...cheap warm orange juice , chip shop sausage , horrid eggs , awful coffee , poorly trained... More

The hotel was somewhat dated but rooms were clean. beds were comfortable. Our rooms were not facing the road and were quiet except for one member of our party who had a room directly over the speakers in the bar downstairs. The showers had good pressure and were quick to warm up. The full cooked breakfast was cooked to order... More

This hotel must have a very long history as there are photographs of how it looked in Victorian times dating back to 1877. It still retains much of its Victorian charm and externally looks very much as it did in those days. Located in the centre of the village convenient for arrivals by bus or train, the rooms are big... After members of our party had completed the Three Peaks challenge and returned quite late to the Hotel, by late I mean 8.30pm. We were informed the restaurant was closing at 9.00. Ok asked for menu's and selected food. Bantry Bay mussels in white wine sauce was my choice and I ask if it was a large platter (at £14.50... More
