We stayed here for three nights during a great trip to Derry. Even though they were busy, the proprietors, Stephen and his dad Paul, were consistently helpful and friendly. They gave a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. (even when we had arrived early!) They showed a genuine interest and concern to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The... More

We thoroughly recommend Serendipity House. It's within a comfortable walking distance of Derry yet out of the way in a quiet spot above the city centre with a lovely view. There was never a problem finding a park right outside the property. Steve was really friendly couldn't do enough for us. Also he helped with our luggage up the stairs... More

Our booking had been 'last minute'. We were travelling to Derry from Galway late in the day and needed two rooms to accommodate five individuals. From the street, we were unsure whether we had made the right decision. However, once inside, the house and host (Stephen) provided just what we needed. Stephen provided excellent recommendations for dinner and tours and... More

This B&B was really nice - Stephen greeted us on arrival and showed us to our room which was a really good size with a nice en-suite, comfy bed, plenty of room for bags etc and a TV. The breakfasts in the morning were brilliant with options of fried breakfast, cereal, fruit, freshly baked scones and cakes and more. Stephen... More

Despite a few quirks, the stay was good value. Very congenial host. Great views from the rooms at the rear of the house. However, this view of the city is made great by the fact that there is a steep hill between Marlborough Street and the city centre. Either be prepared for an uphill climb to get there, or else... We stayed in the family room, which was a little bit tight for 3 of us, but this our only tiny complaint. The room and shower were clean and warm, beds comfortable. We enjoyed chatting with the hosts, good breakfast, nice view.

We originally booked a room in Angel House but were moved just across the street to Serendipity because of a problem with our original room. I can't say enough about the warmth and hospitality of our hosts. My husband and I enjoyed our conversations (although brief) with both the father and son team who serve the two B&B's. Breakfast, while... More
