Jan and I decided to stay at The Marcliffe at Pitfodels for our wedding anniversary, and it didn't disappoint. Two factors over all others that sets the Marcliffe aside from their competitors is the level of service, and attention to detail, not to mention the outstanding food. Branded hotels just don't offer the individual levels of service that an independent...

We stayed here as the climax to a week long staycation in Scotland and were certainly not disappointed. The hotel has that wonderful balance between understated luxury and charm. The staff were great and anticipated all our needs. The drawing room is a lovely place for a pre-dinner drink and we were lucky enough to have another very generous patron...

Attended a 300 strong corporate function, at $150 a head. Roast beef meal was average, but much too rare for many.
Found the bar staff bordering on the aggressive at the end of the evening, and the hotel decided it was 1 resident to 1 guest when a business colleague invited us for a drink, very embarrassing for him. The...

This a transformed estate into hotel....beautiful grounds, perfect setting for many weddings and wonderful food. By special request, we indulged in an English treat "sticky toffee pudding" which we had missed while in London. The atmosphere is relaxing - a comfortable lounge is perfect for afternoon tea or drinks in the evening. Try the SPA for a hot stone massage...

I booked this hotel as part of a five start Ireland and Scotland vacation. The Marcliffe made the 5 star Dublin hotel look like 2! While 8 ounces of bottled water out of the mini bar in Dublin was 5 euro, everything at the Marcliffe was free. And it was stocked with treats, drinks, etc. Even fruit in the room....

Stayed at the Marcliffe whilst attending a works function. An overnights stay wasn't cheap, but suited us rather than a taxi ride home. Room was clean, although bathroom looked a bit worn and grouting on tiles could do with a good scrub or re-grout. else, enjoyed the stay Breakfast was good.
We just stayed at this excellent hotel for one night only, but it was a wonderful experience. The hotel staff were warm and courteous, our standard room beautifully appointed and the evening meal we enjoyed was quite magnificent. One of the best steaks I've had in a long time! The hotel bar and lounge is a great feature of the...

My first stay at this hotel and generally very impressed. Had a Junior Suite which was quite expensive, but very luxurious. One minor niggle was with the bathroom temperature. Despite a heated towel rail it was quite a cold room. Hotel reception and bar areas are very welcoming and nicely furnished. Had dinner in the conservatory restaurant and it was...

excellent hotel, some of the best staff service and attention i've ever had.
food is excellent, rooms are clean but a little on the "to be expected" level and nothing stands out on the rooms for a hotel of this calibre. Entrance is very 'estate' and the sitting room with the bar is very nice. The wi-fi in the rooms...
