We spent 2 nights at the Lochvoil House Bed and Breakfast at the end of August 2011, and found the owners to be very friendly and offered helpful information on walks and restaurants in Oban. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was of a particularly high standard, with home made cake and home made bread, which was... More

Although we booked quite late and missed out on the rooms with a sea view, we had an excellent stay here. Clean, quiet, comfortable, friendly and welcoming.

We arrived to a lovely warm welcome from Sheila who really made us feel at home. The rooms were clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. The location is perfect, a short (steep) walk from the town centre, and the garden has beautiful views of town and sea. Sheila was very helpful in terms of local information on places to eat and... Had a wonderful stay at Lochvoil with Sheila & Kenneth recently. We chose the Sea View room which was gorgeous, had a really comfy bed and nice views across the harbour and out towards Kerrera. They also dished up a fabulous breakfast with home made breads...we'll be back!

Our stay at Lochvoil House was perhaps one of the best stays we had whilst in Scotrland. Clean and comfortable rooms, beautiful antiques - the garden was immaculate and sitting there with a cup of tea or a glass of good South African wine was about as good as it gets. Great views of Oban and the harbour with the... More

I actually think that the 'terrible' reviewer may have stayed here. We could see elements of 'Basil' in the owner. Well meaning, but didn't really listen. Example: we asked to have breakfast at 8.00 as we wanted an early start - he told us we wouldn't need to have it then and told his wife 8.15 - which caused a... More

We stayed in the self catering bothy at the back of the B&B. It is situated in a fantastic location. With fantastic views over the harbour and a hint at the hustle and bustle below, you never tire of sitting out in the garden. The Bothy had everything you needed for a relaxing stay and was spotlessly clean. The hosts,... More

The room was immaculate, very spacious with a lovely view of the harbour. Sheila was very welcoming and cooked us a wonderful breakfast, including freshly baked scones!! B&B is within walking distance of the harbour with its many restaurants and pubs. We will definitely stay here again .

This is a very nice B&B in a beautiful setting, the drive up from England, around Loch Lomond, sets the scene for the surrounding area. Oban is a ferry ride away from Mull (note, not the Mull of Kintyre) and it's well worth the trip over. The owners, Ken and Sheila, were really welcoming and the breakfasts were superb. We... More
