This is a lovely hotel with very comfortable rooms and stunning food but while the service was efficient it was (with the exception of the two senior dining room staff) soulless.

We have just returned from a three night stay at Burt's and can only reiterate the comments made by most other visitors, Excellent, attentive staff. Room/bathroom, spotless, room maintenance first rate, Food, really good, Had a really enjoyable time and will undoubtedly return.

Burts hotel looks from the outside just your normal pub hotel, but beware, the rooms are lovely. Spotless, with a new and refurbished feel for it. We booked a room at Burts on the spur of the movement while driving through Melrose. What a pleasant surprise - very comfortable well appointed rooms, excellent food and welcoming efficient service. Well done to everyone involved.
