We visited this hotel for a quick lunch and were not disappointed. £6.50 for good quality two courses was excellent value for money and we would definitely return if they keep this offer going. Pity about the dull interior but the friendly staff and open fire was very welcoming.

We didn't stay, but had a lovely meal (seems to be doing a special steak night on a Tuesday -which included a soft drink or glass of wine). The place was packed and rightly so, great food. Pity about the abrupt (almost to the point of rude) blond waitress, but all the other staff were helpful and friendly. Would recommend... More

I don’t think the hotel governor here believes in websites, great chef but he should wake up, and quickly, updating his photographs and what he offers to his quests, great service and a family friendly atmosphere from brilliant staff. High street, town centre small hotel in a lovely little town, rooms do vary here, it is a large pub /... More

Like home from home but with fabulous food. All the staff couldn't do enough for us. Very clean and comfortable bedrooms. Perfectly central for walks around Melrose. Can't recommend it enough.

We only stayed one night but wish it had been more. The staff were fantastic. So efficient and friendly. Great room, great food, great hotel full stop. If I had to pick one thing though, it was the breakfast. It was the tastiest we have ever had. We will definately stay again but make a weekend of it next time.

I stayed here while walking St Cuthbert's Way. The room was very old fashioned no shower only bath. This room was the most expensive of the five B&B I slept in during this trip and was by far the worst.

Hotel surpassed our expectations in every way. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and great food. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Very good value for the money, would recommend.
