The hotel is just what I like, it is what you make it. 7 of us took the backroom bunk house and the hoteliers allowed us to use the showers in the unoccupied room. Stayed overnight after a long hill walk. The hotel is old - the size and layout reflects this. If you are looking for chain hotel homogenity and facilities don't stay here. If you seek tranquility and a warm welcome do. My walking companion and I were the only guests, however the lady running the hotel (sorry didn't catch her name... More

Tired of chrome, insincerity, souless rooms? This elderly inn has all the marks of the different periods in it's existence, some good, others not so. Could have been disappointing but new management are trying so hard that we had a really good experience. We had an en-suite roomwith good shower but no bath but there was a bathroom next door... More
