Like many who have commented, my wife and I stayed at the hotel via a third party "coupon" deal (2 nights B&B, First night with 3 course dinner...and whisky! 2nd night with free house wine if eat in the Bistro). I had never used the coupon system before..but will gain if the value and quality is as good as that... More

Have literally just got home from a lovely two night stay at this hotel. Starting from the telephone booking to the check out, everything went without a hitch. It's a particularly nicely furnished comfortable small hotel. We were very happy with out room but as mentioned by another reviewer, the two flights of stairs may be a problem for the... More

We had a two night stay in March– a deal which included a fantastic 3 course meal (with complementary Glenkichie) and a free bottle of wine with a very generous dinner in the Bistro on the second night. Breakfasts were excellent with a wide range of options and the room was lovely: clean, light with a nice view over the... More

We had two nights on a deal, upgraded to a luxury room (which was a good idea as we enjoyed the space) and had no complaints at all. There is a feeling that the owners are working hard to provide a good service and this ethos was present in all the staff - we were impressed that our waiter knew... More

I had a two night stay this week – a deal which included a 3 course meal (with complementary Glenkichie after it) and a free bottle of wine for having dinner there on the second night. I was delighted to claim the wine as the food in the restaurant, and the Bistro both proved to be very tasty indeed. I... More

Cannot disagree more with other reviewer. We also stayed in a standard room. Decor was great and a very clean and comfortable room. The meal in tha restaurant was excellent and everything was freshly cooked to a very high standard. Have stayed In this hotel several times and would highly recommend it from both a hospitality, rate of standard, great... More

We booked this hotel through Groupon, £99 for two people for two nights, the bargain of the century! I didn't realise when I booked it that it was the Easter Weekend. When I discovered it was the Easter weekend I couldn't believe the hotel had accepted discount bookings on a busy weekend. From the moment we arrived we felt very... More

Disappointing - standard rooms on 2nd floor (attic rooms) reached by winding staircase - no lift. very small en suite shower room which was poorly lit - applying makeup or shaving awkward. Very noisy extract fan. £35 for 3 course meal - poor value and quality. All main courses served plated and mountains of chips and frozen veg used as... More

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your meal in the Bistro with the whole Baked Plaice having too many bones. We have 2 dining areas here at the hotel and we believe the Bistro where you dined offers excellent value with 3 courses at £22.50. The fine dining restaurant as an alternative offers 3 courses for... More

Just back from a fantastic stay at this wonderful relaxing retreat. We booked a Groupon deal and as worth every penny, the staff were all very friendly & extremely welcoming, our room was lovely and loved the Jacuzzi bath, bed was very comfortable and food was excellent and would definitely recommend dinning in, outstanding value for money. We also bought a Groupon deal for 1 night and when we called to book the staff were most helpful. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who offered to carry our bag, changed our red wine for white which was waiting in their fridge for our return from our day out.The location is very good for exploring the...
