Stayed late 2009 excuse the late post but only just joined trip advisor, great service. Room was large and clean, breakfast great and the evening meal even better would defiantly stay again. Very central location in Selkirk.

We choose this as a clean, quiet place to go for a Sunday roast. It was clean but staff was nowhere to be seen! The roast was congealed, drinks watery and service lacking- not made up by the loud woman at the other end of the room. Horrible, would skip this place and go to Sainsbury's for a sandwich instead!

The county hotel is located bang in the middle of this small town and has private parking to the rear. Rooms have obviously been improved upon of late and its clear that the scandinavian hosts are making a real effort here. My double room (for single occupany) was spacious and quaint. We booked this knowing very little about the hotel (except previous reviews). We have stayed in some run-down hotels in Scotland .... but this certainly was not! We found our room comfortable, the staff extremely friendly and the food (breakfast and dinner) good.
