We had a 2 night stay in The Farmers Inn which we really enjoyed. The rooms were very clean and warm and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed our evening meals in the pub and the owners were really friendly. Breakfast was very good and served by Granny who was a lovely lady who we really enjoyed a chat with.... More

We couldn't get a room at our friend's wedding venue (Comlongon Castle) but this B&B was perfect for us. It was cheaper by more than £140 and because we were at the wedding all afternoon and evening, we really only needed somewhere to get ready and to sleep. We had a very clean and comfortable family room. The heating was... More

We (my wife and I that is) were attending a wedding at Comlongon Castle and decided to come down two days before the wedding. Despite reading some of the reviews we decided to stay at the Farmers Inn, primarily due to its proximity to the castle. We were surprised when checking into our room that they had been decorated and... More

Would like to say thankyou for a lovely 2 night stay whilst my brother got married and the castle. The food was fantastic in the bar, we were made very welcome. Were thinking of going back to stay there when we visit family next year. Please remember this is a B&B. Has all the facilities and more you could ask... More

We stayed at this hotel the night before our wedding at Comlongon Castle. We picked it purely because it was the nearest place to the castle and they had rooms available for our bridesmaids and some of our other guests on the same night. The rooms were very dowdy, the shower smelt awful and the bed was the most uncomfortable... More

The place is totally run down and dirty. The water boiler in the room was black from dirt inside! Can not recommend!

We stayed at this hotel due to it being close to Caelaverock Castle, where our friends were getting married the next day. We arrived around 7pm, went to the bar to check in, greeted very nicely by the owner and went to our room to put our bags away. The 3 rooms are purpose built to the back of the... More

We found the Farmer's Inn on the internet when looking for accommodation for a wedding at nearby Comlongon Castle, and were very pleased to have found such a great place so close by. The ensuite motel style room was very clean, appeared to have been recently updated and included all the facilities we required for our short stay, including a... More
