Came through town with a golf buddy. The staff at the Selkirk Arms were very helpful and wonderfully friendly. The food was terrific and the accommodations were clean and efficient... I can't recommend this one enough....

We have just retuned from a two night break in this great hotel. It was a short golf break and we were very lucky to have super weather and good helpful advise on local courses ect from staff at the hotel. I have to agree with what I have read in other reviews what makes this small hotel stand out... More

I organised a 3-night trip for a group of 29 and we were able to fill the hotel, which was ideal. They were extremely helpful from my first enquiry and during the months of sorting the arrangements, Joanna in particular being so enthusiastic and encouraging. On arrival Douglas, the owner/manager came onto our bus to welcome us and the friendly... More

We stayed two nights over the Spring Bank Holiday as it was my husband's birthday on one of the days. The room was very clean and comfortable and the food was excellent. What really makes this small hotel stand out is the friendliness and dedication to service of the staff and the owners. We have been staying at this hotel... More

Stayed two nights over the Easter Bank Holiday. The room was small, but very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The food is the same in the bistro and restaurant - and is excellent. The quality is really good, with locally sourced ingredients, including really tasty and tender steaks and superb fish, all at very reasonable prices. The... More

We must first say thanks for the reviews on TripAdvisor! We selected this hotel at short notice because of the fabulous reviews on the site. They were all right! We stayed for three nights this week. It was a real treat to stay at this little hotel. The staff were really friendly, the place was spotlessly clean and the food... More

We were delighted to discover this small Hotel, and endorse the favourable comments of others. The room was well-equipped and comfortable and the restaurant menu was a tribute to caring preparation of locally-sourced ingredients. The Galloway Beef duo was a memorable experience - my preference always is lamb over beef but this was succulent, delicious and mouth-meltingly good. It was... More

We spent three nights at the Selkirk Arms over the Easter bank holiday, and felt we needed to add our voices to the many positive reviews. If service is truly outstanding, it can be difficult to notice as it takes place effortlessly around you. A hint of the service in store came when we were a few hours' drive from... More

Just returned from 1 night stay. Great hotel and service. Didn't eat in restaurant but would next time. Great hotel and bar service with staff only too happy to help. Hotel is making an effort to ensure every need is catered for. Knowledgeable and interested staff including Barr man who made us very welcome. Breakfast was great and rooms clean... More
